Most people know the Biblical account of Jonah.
He was an ancient prophet who resisted a divine call
to teach repentance to the people of Nineveh.

God punished Jonah by sending a great fish to swallow him.

While spending time in the whale's belly, a couple of things happened to Jonah:

1.  He figured that from now on he'd better do whatever God asked.
2.  He got hooked on fresh seafood
(Most people don't know that part).
When Jonah was sufficiently contrite, the whale dropped him off on the shore, and he eventually carried out his divine duties.

He also spread the benefits of eating shrimp, crab, snapper, and salmon.  The word spread quickly, and pretty soon folks were giving up lamb chops and goat steaks for char-broiled grouper and halibut.

In his role as prophet, Jonah said, "It shall come to pass in a new land, along a great river, an eating and gathering place shall offer to the people a great selection of delicious foods from the sea...and this place, too, shall be called 'Jonah's!'".

We prophesize that you will enjoy our bill of fare, and will return here often.
